La Toussuire via Jarrier and Saint-Pancrace

This route winds through several hamlets, from Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne to La Toussuire. It's a mix of physical effort and discovery of the area. Local heritage and mountain scenery are also on the agenda. We look forward to hearing from you.
This alternative ascent to La Toussuire is aimed at cyclists looking for effort and tranquillity. Departing from Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne, the route passes through alpine pastures and the Jarrier area, dotted with numerous hamlets and remarkable Baroque chapels, before joining the route des Bottières and the final ascent to La Toussuire. The return journey takes us through the Saint-Pancrace forest, which offers appreciable protection from the summer heat. The steep, steady gradients make this the most selective of the three routes into the resort.
The road surface, in average condition, is lightly trafficked, ensuring smooth progress. Water, refreshment and repair points are available all along the route.
Don't forget to stop off at Les Bottières to discover the "sentier des cabanes".
