Col du Chaussy via the Montvernier lacets

This loop takes you to the Col du Chaussy via the emblematic Montvernier lacets. It combines technical prowess, magnificent scenery and heritage. It will appeal to sports enthusiasts as much as to lovers of Alpine discovery.
This exceptional route opens onto one of the most spectacular roads in the Maurienne: the famous Montvernier lacets. A veritable feat of engineering, this ascent links 18 tight bends carved into the rock, offering an experience as aesthetic as it is sporting, right from the very first kilometers. The even gradient and high-quality surface make for a gradual ascent, ideal for enjoying the panoramic views over the valley and surrounding mountains.
After passing through the hamlets of Montvernier, the route becomes more aerial, winding under the cliffs of Montpascal. This athletic, little-frequented passage combines calm, a feeling of altitude and unobstructed views. Arrival at the village of Montpascal marks a transition to a more mountain and pastoral atmosphere.
The route then continues towards the Col du Chaussy, where you can stop off at the inn on the pass.
All along the route, road conditions are good and traffic is light, ensuring comfort and safety.
