In full view of the audience, a daring volunteer discovers his role for the next hour: a performing artist. Role: Human Cannon.

1. Diligently following the prescribed protocol, he familiarises himself with the materials and equipment… Enthusiastic despite his obvious incompetence and chronic clumsiness, he quickly gets into the swing of things, setting out to defy gravity both literally and figuratively. According to his calculations, everything should go smoothly… But today, it’s not working out. The words, the art and the flair are missing.

2. Today, he is facing the audience. Everyone is watching him, everyone can see him. Little by little, he becomes aware of the danger, of life’s unpredictable course, of time passing. Suddenly, the obvious seems to turn on its head.

3. Today’s fable, which tentatively illustrates that universal and timeless law that makes toast land butter-side down and turns each of us into magnificent losers.
