It's a dream, a challenge and a bit of a rant too, high up in the sky! It's a balancing act on a chairlift cable by circus artist Céline Bulteau. Originally from Saint Jean de Maurienne, she grew up in the mountains. She began taming the void through climbing, skiing and mountain biking, and very early on made the most of the natural environment around her that was so dear to her, before discovering the circus discipline of the wire and making it her profession!
This thin cable, a metaphor for life, where we try to keep our balance...
The cables that populate our mountains and especially our ski resorts.
So it's a no-brainer to balance on these cables, which are part of the mountain landscape.
To take advantage of this balanced crossing, this moment suspended in the air, to take the time to look at these mountains and appreciate them for what they are...
But this project is not intended to be a ‘simple balancing act’.
It's also a way of raising awareness of environmental threats.
Using poetry, powerful images and a feat of balancing in a ski resort environment, we want to raise awareness together that it's time to pamper our mountains and that it's never too late.
