What is the purpose of the Homeowners’ Centre?

Whether you are a property owner, prospective owner, property manager or investor, we are here to welcome you and support you every step of the way. The Homeowners’ Centre answers your questions, provides information and directs you to the relevant contacts or authorities where necessary.

It is also a place where your voice is heard: your suggestions, comments and proposals are taken on board to help improve services and the quality of life in the resort.

Owning a property in the mountains involves specific challenges. Whether it’s regulations, taxation, letting management, classification or the quality of accommodation, the Maison des Propriétaires helps you better understand these issues and puts you in touch with the right people.

In particular, it offers advice on obtaining the Ministerial Classification and marketing or quality labels for furnished accommodation, notably the Qualité Hébergement Sybelles® label.

The Maison des Propriétaires also acts as a point of contact for one-to-one tax consultations, organised in conjunction with the Maison des Propriétaires in Le Corbier and Cerfrance, as well as for video conferences on regulations and the latest tax developments, organised with the S.I.V.A.V.

La Maison des Propriétaires also creates opportunities for people to meet. Social events are organised during the winter and summer seasons, in collaboration with the Corbier resort, bringing together property owners, local councillors and representatives from the ski lift company.

These events provide an opportunity to gain a better understanding of developments in the resort, to ask questions, and also to talk directly with other owners and share experiences and best practice.

To keep owners informed of the latest news, the Maison des Propriétaires publishes half-yearly newsletters as well as email updates whenever necessary.

These communications enable you to keep track of regulatory changes, upcoming events, support schemes and important information relating to life in the resort.

La Maison des Propriétaires also supports homeowners with their improvement and renovation projects. In particular, it oversees the ‘Second Souffle’ programme, which is dedicated to the comprehensive renovation of the resort’s block-of-flats.

It can also direct owners to local, regional or national authorities that may be able to assist them in securing renovation grants or information on other current schemes.

Owning a property in the mountains presents its own set of challenges: weather conditions, technical constraints, regulations, managing a furnished holiday let, tax issues and marketing.

La Maison des Propriétaires is here to help you better understand these issues and make the right choices. It is also a forum for discussion, ensuring you are not left to face questions or difficulties encountered in managing your property on your own.

Taking part in the meetings, workshops and events on offer is therefore an opportunity to find out more, share your experiences and meet other property owners.

La Maison des Propriétaires is a non-profit organisation (under the 1901 Act). Its services are free of charge and available to all property owners and prospective owners, without distinction.

Its funding is provided in equal parts by three organisations:the municipality of Fontcouverte, the La Toussuire Tourist Office and the Sybelles® Ski Lifts company.

This collaboration has three objectives:

• To raise awareness of the quality of tourist accommodation, thereby contributing to holidaymakers’ satisfaction and the resort’s appeal.
• To promote the marketing of accommodation, in particular by helping to ‘fill empty beds’, i.e. properties occupied for less than four weeks a year.
• To enable every owner to benefit from useful and up-to-date information, whatever their circumstances.

In this way, the Maison des Propriétaires contributes, in its own small way, to bringing the resort to life, improving the quality of its accommodation and strengthening the bond between owners and all stakeholders in La Toussuire.
