Hike along the ridges A scenic walk

Head up into the hills and explore the ridges between La Toussuire and Le Corbier! This winter hike offers a lovely break in the great outdoors, with a groomed and signposted route that allows you to fully enjoy the snow-covered landscapes and a 360° view of the surrounding peaks.

To begin your adventure, head for the Tête de Bellard pedestrian chairlift. Once you’re seated, leave the resort gradually behind you as you gain altitude. On arrival, the panorama opens out onto the great Maurienne mountain ranges: a spectacular setting that immediately adds a whole new dimension to the walk.

An ideal hike for gaining altitude, admiring the scenery and enjoying the winter mountains in a different way, without needing to put on your skis.

The route

On arrival at the Tête de Bellard chairlift, turn slightly to the left, then head downhill to join the groomed footpath. After crossing a ski run, you’ll reach the footpath.

Then follow the undulating, groomed path towards the top of the Sybelles Express chairlift. Throughout the route, ‘pedestrian route’ signposts are in place at the start and at every junction. Yellow and black markers also guide you along the way.

On arrival, you have two options: turn back and return via the same route, or continue the adventure by descending to Le Corbier on the Sybelles Express chairlift. A free shuttle bus then takes you to La Toussuire, every day except Saturdays.

To use the Tête de Bellard chairlift as a pedestrian, you must purchase a pedestrian ticket from the ski lift ticket offices at the base of the slopes.

A panoramic view life-size

This is one of the great attractions of this walk: gaining height to enjoy an exceptional panoramic view of the surrounding peaks. From the ridges, the view stretches far into the distance, revealing some of the Alps’ most iconic landscapes. As you make your way along the route, admire the Belledonne massif, the majestic Aiguilles d’Arves and Mont Charvin. In winter, the snow-capped peaks offer a spectacular backdrop and a wonderful sense of escape.

Take the time to stop off a few times to gaze at the peaks, enjoy the tranquillity of the wide open spaces and capture these landscapes from the heights of La Toussuire.

Snowpy Mountain A break for young and old alike

During your walk, stop off at Snowpy Mountain, a leisure area designed for families to enjoy the mountains. It’s the perfect place to take a proper break, have a picnic or simply let the children let off some steam before setting off again.

XL hammocks, wooden deckchairs, gazebos, swings and picnic tables mean there’s a cosy spot for everyone to relax. Children can enjoy the play facilities whilst parents take the time to admire the scenery.

And if you’re looking for a lovely souvenir to take home, you can’t miss the large sculpture of Snowpy, the white rabbit and mascot of the play area. It’s a must-visit spot for a family photo amidst the snow-covered scenery!

A gourmet break at Les Carlines

At the top station of the Tête de Bellard chairlift, why not stop off at Les CarLines, a mountain restaurant situated at 2,200 metres?

Before setting off along the ridges, it’s the ideal place to refuel, catch up with friends or enjoy some family time with fellow skiers making the most of the ski area.

And if you’re doing a round-trip hike, why not treat yourself to a well-deserved break before catching the chairlift back down? After all that effort, it’s time for some comfort!
