No, the Eriscal walk is accessible on foot from the resort. If you wish, you can reach Lake Eriscal effortlessly on the free Eriscal shuttle bus.

Are snowshoes compulsory?

No, the path has been groomed, which means the snow is already compacted. Snowshoes are therefore optional; a good pair of boots or après-ski boots will suffice. We recommend you bring walking poles.

Suitable for everyone, the Champ l’Eriscal walk is an invitation to discover the snow-covered landscapes of La Toussuire with ease. This groomed trail winds its way across a vast, open plateau and offers superb panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. Thanks to its various routes, everyone can tailor the walk to their own pace and enjoy a winter outing close to nature.

The route

The route starts in frontof the Tourist Office. Take the road opposite, then turn right to walk alongside the tennis courts. Continue through the residential area, with the Beausoleil Hotel on your right, before heading up the street and crossing the main road. Then take the path that climbs up opposite and runs alongside the LaGrange Vacances Balcons des Aiguilles holiday complex to reach the Champ l’Eriscal plateau.

Once on the groomed path, there are several options to choose from: feel free to select the route that best suits your preferences and the length of walk you’d like to take.

Marking

The trail is groomed, which means the snow is regularly compacted to make walking easier. Along the route, pink markers guide you so you can easily follow the correct path.

Groomed ski trail

The trail is regularly groomed, providing a comfortable and easy-to-follow path. Snowshoes are not essential: a simple pair of winter walking boots or après-ski boots with good grip will suffice.

Dogs not permitted

The route is within the ski area. For safety reasons and in accordance with the regulations, dogs are not permitted on this trail.

Sticks

Although the route is accessible, we recommend that you bring a pair of walking poles. They will give you greater stability on both uphill and downhill sections and will make your walk even more enjoyable.

Sled

The route is not suitable for pushchairs, even all-terrain ones, due to the snow and the terrain. However, younger children can enjoy the walk from a sledge, which is ideal for sharing this moment as a family.

The Champ l’Eriscal plateau offers a magnificent view of La Toussuire, which we can see below us, as well as the iconic Aiguilles d’Arves.

From this natural viewpoint, you can also enjoy an unobstructed view of the slopes and the ski area.

Thanks to the gentle gradient and the groomed path, these landscapes are accessible without any technical difficulty, making this walk an excellent choice for admiring the mountains in winter.

A break in the countryside in the heart of the resort

Just a few minutes’ walk from the Tourist Office, the atmosphere changes completely. The tranquillity of the snow-covered plateau, the wide open spaces and the panoramic views of the peaks invite you to slow down and enjoy the mountains to the full. Although situated right next to the resort, this walk offers a real sense of escape, amidst unspoilt nature and views of the ski area.

Thanks to its groomed trail and various alternative routes, Champ l’Eriscal is an accessible walk that can be tailored to suit everyone’s preferences.

Near Lake Eriscal, families can extend their walk by enjoying a toboggan run, play areas and the Chez Bib snack bar.

It’s the perfect opportunity to enjoy a cosy moment over a coffee, a hot chocolate or a tasty snack whilst gazing at the snow-capped mountains.
