Our winter events

Every winter, the Alpine peaks become the setting for La Grande Odyssée Royal Canin, Europe’s most gruelling dog sledge race. Since 2005, top-level mushers and their teams have been competing across several stages through the Alpine landscapes, in an adventure combining endurance, technical skill and the bond between man and dog.

Over several days, the teams cover hundreds of kilometres and tackle significant elevation gains, treating the public to a spectacle that is as impressive as it is moving. More than just a competition, La Grande Odyssée Royal Canin is a true immersion in the world of mushing and the culture of the Far North.

This year, La Toussuire will have the privilege of hosting the final stage of the Royal Canin Grande Odyssée for the first time. It will be a spectacular finish, bringing to a close several days of racing amidst the snow-covered landscapes of the Alps.

For this final stage, the dog teams will give their all to cross the finish line and bring this great adventure to a spectacular close. Spectators will be able to watch the dogs and mushers pass by, discover the world of mushing and enjoy a spectacle that is as sporting as it is impressive.
