La Toussuire in spring
Winter is slowly drawing to a close. The snow is melting, and the last traces of white are gradually giving way to the first hints of green. The winter chill is fading under the rays of the spring sun. The rivers are breaking free from the ice, the streams are swelling, and their gentle lapping accompanies the mountains’ reawakening.
In the meadows, nature is regaining its colours. The first buds are bursting open, flowers are appearing and the scents of spring mingle with the buzzing of the bees, which are already hard at work. Everywhere, life is returning to its normal rhythm.
After long months of hibernation, the marmots emerge from their burrows and pop their heads out. The swallows return to the mountains and their songs ring out once more through the air. In the mountain pastures, the first herds of cows, sheep and goats gradually make their way up to the higher ground, in search of the first blades of grass.
The mountains are changing their appearance… and with them, the ways to explore them.
The mountains are coming to life. Why not come and wake up with them?
